Toronto Raptors players went on an Alberta adventure and it looked like they loved it

The Toronto Raptors organization is ensuring its players get to see some of Alberta’s most beautiful sights.

The Raptors have been in Calgary all week as part of their training camp. It marks the first time the organization has ever held its training camp in Calgary. They had two preseason outings in Alberta’s largest city, in 1996 and 2016.

The Raptors have held three practices in Calgary thus far and have a fourth and final, which is open to the public, on Friday. Following Tuesday’s practice, they were able to get out and explore not only Calgary but the surrounding area, including a trip to the mountains.

“It’s pretty beautiful. It’s a beautiful place to be,” Scottie Barnes told reporters about Calgary on Tuesday. “Going to probably tour around some more to see what it’s like.”

Tour around they did, as the Raptors posted several photos to social media showing the players taking in the breathtaking scenes of Lake Louise.

Several players hopped into canoes to row the glacier water, which, especially at this time of the year, is extremely blue.

“It looks like Gatorade,” Grady Dick can be heard saying at one point in the video.

After taking in Lake Louise, the Raptors made their way to Banff, where they were filmed doing some shopping and stopping by a bar to sing some karaoke.

The Raptors returned to Calgary a short time later and are now preparing for their open practice, which plenty of fans are expected to attend.

“It’s unfathomable, really. It’s a whole country that’s supporting the Toronto Raptors, not just a province,” said Raptors 2025 first-round pick Collin Murray-Boyles. “It’s really good to see the support we have nationwide.”

The Raptors will be heading to Vancouver a short time later, as they are set to play a preseason game on Monday, Oct. 6, versus the Denver Nuggets. They will play a total of six exhibition games before their season opener on Oct. 22 against the Atlanta Hawks.
