Adorable new cafe serving Chinese tea and snacks opens in Calgary
An adorable new cafe has just opened its doors in Calgary’s Chinatown.
Today’s Special is the newest kid on the block. From its brand-new space at 109 2nd Ave. SE, the spot will dish out Chinese tea, coffee, and snacks.
As well as all the classic espresso drinks that we know and love, Today’s Special will also serve up a wide selection of teas, including milky oolong, jasmine milk tea, and seasonal options like the persimmon pu’ erh salted honey cloud.

Calgarians won’t want to miss out on the bites, either. Savoury picks include cold sesame noodles, milk bread BLT with pork belly and chili crisp mayo, and roasted tuna onigiri.
Of course, as with any great cafe, there are sweet treats such as the five spice carrot cake and a white chocolate miso sesame cookie.
Today’s Special is in its soft-opening phase as of Nov. 4, so hours may vary a little. But there will be a grand opening celebration on Nov. 14, so watch this space.
