A three-year-old boy died in Calgary this morning.
The child was struck by a vehicle on the 1800 block of Valleyview Road NE at roughly 8:40 am this morning, according to a release from the Calgary Police Service.
We are currently investigating a pedestrian involved collision in the area of Vista Cr and Valleyview Rd NE. There will be road closures in place as our Traffic Unit investigates. Please follow the direction of our officers on scene. #yyc #YYCTraffic

The boy was taken to hospital shortly after the collision in life-threatening condition, though would ultimately succumb to his injuries.
The release stated that neither speed nor alcohol are being considered as factors in the fatal collision.
As of 11:20 am the roads in the area remain closed.
The incident comes just days after a 6-year-old girl was struck and killed by a CTrain and a man was also killed by the CTrain in a sperate incident.
