Fiestaval Latin Festival

Fiestaval is a free and family-oriented multicultural arts and entertainment festival highlighting Latin American Culture. The three day event will take place in the heart of downtown Calgary at the Calgary Olympic Plaza and feature over 18 authentic Latin food vendors, in addition to 60 plus community vendors.

When: July 22 to 24 from 11 am to 11 pm

Folk Music Festival

The 37th annual Calgary Folk Music Festival will have 76 icons and upstarts from 16 countries performing on 8 stages during the 3 day festival. 2016 performers include The New Pornographers, Cat Power, Braids, Lord Huron, Oyster Band and many more.

When: Thursday July 21 to Sunday, July 24

Hamlet – A Ghost Story

Theatre Calgary’s Production of Hamlet takes a small hiatus from Prince’s Island Park and moves to St. Patrick’s Island for the week. No need to buy tickets for the show, just arrive early to grab a seat and bring a blanket with you if you’d like. The show runs on donations, so pay what you’d like when the collection hat makes it’s way through the crowd. Find showtimes online.

Canadian International Fashion Film Festival (CAIFFF)

Join in on the first ever two day event and explore the diverse, shifting landscape of fashion through film in the categories of beauty, lifestyle and luxury.

When: Friday, July 22 to Saturday, July 23
Cost: $30 individual screening; $250 two day pass

Something Old, Something New: 125 Years of Wedding Fashion

See some of the most trendsetting and common wedding dresses in Alberta from the last 125 years. The exhibition features collections from the Museum of the Highwood, the Red Deer Museum, the Royal Alberta Museum, the Lougheed House Conservation Society, as well as numerous private collections.
