The end of a short work week is here and there is finally some sunshine to enjoy! Here are some awesome events to help kick start your weekend fun.
Calgary Night Market 2016
Featuring a variety of ethnic street foods, local vendors, buskers, and entertainment, the Calgary Night Market has everything from jewelry to clothes, to household items. The market is happening on the first and last Fridays of the month until September 9. Admission to the Night Market is free.

Shakespeare by the Bow: Hamlet
Theatre Calgary is bringing Hamlet outside as it shows its annual outdoor performances of Shakespeare by the Bow. It is a pay-what-you-will and non-ticketed event, so you can just turn up with a blanket and picnic and settle in; the suggested donation is $20 per adult. All funds go towards the Shakespeare by the Bow program providing mentorship and support for Alberta’s emerging theatre artists.
Where: Prince’s Island Park – 698 Eau Claire Avenue SW
When: Now until August 21, every day except Mondays; performances at 7 pm, with an extra 2pm matinee on Sundays.

Calgary Fringe Festival
Fringes are uncensored, non-juried theatre festivals. The first Fringe started in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947, and has grown into one of the biggest arts festivals in the world.

Expo Latino
Western Canada’s largest latin festival. Celebrating it’s 19th anniversary. Creating experiences of discovery and learning through the celebration of people, music and dance.

When: Friday, August 5 to Sunday, August 7
Time: 6:30 to 11 pm Friday; 12:30 to 11:30 pm Saturday; 12:30 to 9 pm Sunday

Jazz Club
What: Emerging musicians from The Banff Centre’s acclaimed Banff International Workshop in Jazz & Creative Music, perform with their internationally acclaimed mentors in late night jam sessions.
