YYC Taco Fiesta

  • What: YYC Taco Fiesta is a new taco festival that runs at the end of April and into May. Participating eateries (which are to be announced) will offer either individual tacos for $4 to $6, or a larger taco platter that will be anywhere from $12 to $18. YYC Taco Fiesta aims to mobilize the taco-loving community and get people into restaurants to purchase these special dishes. Partial proceeds from the taco sales (15%) will be donated to the Calgary Homeless Foundation and Kids Up Front.

  • What: 2016 was the year of music here in Calgary, and the music industry in our city is now booming as a result. Arts Commons Presents the Blues: Popa Chubby

  • What: Theodore Joeseph Horowitz, aka Popa Chubby is coming to town! Straight from the Bronx, he boasts over 25 years of hard-rocking electric blues and is known as an innovative trailblazer of postmodern blues-rock. Prepare yourself for a night you will surely never forget!

Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy

Calgary International Beerfest

  • What: If you’re a beer drinker then you absolutely can’t miss out on this festival! Alberta Ballet Presents: Our Canada

  • What: Come and celebrate both Canada’s 150th Birthday and Alberta Ballet’s 50th Birthday in this beautiful ballet married to the music of Canadian Legend, Gordon Lightfoot. You will be transported on a journey through our province and country as the secrets of our nation are portrayed through a series of visual poems and intimate duets.

Jane’s Walk

  • What: Celebrate your neighborhood in the 9th annual Jane’s Walk on May 5-7. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and create new friendships, while learning funny, informative and exploratory facts about your neighborhood, while sharing with others the unique knowledge that you know. Everyone should be an expert on the place where they live!

Rock of Ages

  • What: Spend an evening transported back to an era of hard rock, emotional guitar solos and hair that reached exponential heights, the good ol’ 80s! The music line-up is littered with famous songs by Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Journey, Bon Jovi and more, that will have you to singing and dancing along throughout the show!

The Alberta Dames Modern Vintage Market

  • What: If you’re looking to venture out of the city a for a small adventure, chck out this amazing local market. There will be a ton unique artists and vendors from around the area, along with food vendors and bakers. From Quilts to mis-matched socks, to soaps and body care products – you’ll find it all at this little country market.

Calgary Bike Swap

Cannabis & Hemp Expo

  • What: With the Canadian marijuana industry evolving at a rapid pace, the Lift-sponsored Cannabis & Hemp Expo aims to offer education to patients, growers, industry professionals, investors and more. More than 100 exhibits will be on hand, showcasing local and national businesses. An on-site doctor will be available for consultations at the Lift Resource Centre and free educational seminars will be conducted by industry leaders.

Model Milk’s summery Southern BBQ Sunday suppers
