We all know that weather predictions in Calgary should be taken with a rather large grain of salt.
Between the chinooks, the huge jumps in temperature, and the Environment Canada weather alerts that seemed to come non-stop throughout this past winter, we don’t blame Calgarians for being a little skeptical when looking at the seven-day forecast — but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get at least a little excited.
- The city's annual street sweeping could land you a $120 ticket
- Dramatically shifting Calgary forecast now calls for sunshine instead of snow
- Disney Parks are banning smoking, vaping, large strollers and more
…Especially when the weather forecast looks so hands-down gorgeous, as it does for the upcoming week.
Following tonight’s potential (we’re talking a 30% chance) for rain and snow, Environment Canada pegs the next six days as nothing but high temperatures and sunny skies.
The heat will ramp up throughout the week, coming to a crescendo on Saturday with a beautiful predicted high of 17°C.
The days before and after will hover between 7°C and 16°C with sunny skies and chill — though barely freezing — nights.
Not a bad way to the start April off, especially given that just a week ago the same forecast was calling for up to 19 cm of snowfall.
We can’t make any promises that the weather will deliver just as Environment Canada calls it, but we would definitely suggest breaking out your best pair of shorts and hopping on a patio to enjoy that sunshine while you can!
