Calgary radio morning show host let go by Corus

A longtime Calgary radio host says she was let go by Corus Radio earlier this week, after co-hosting a popular morning show for the past six years.

Sue Deyell took to social media today to announce that after seven years with Corus Radio, including six co-hosting the morning show 770 CHQR Mornings with Sue and Andy, she has been let go.

“To say I’m brokenhearted is an understatement. For six of those years, I’ve had the absolute best partner (in crime) on Mornings With Sue And Andy, with our little AM morning show consistently placing in the top three in Calgary in our demo! I will miss our amazing family of listeners and my wonderful coworkers. I’ve been in this industry for 32 years and it’s been an amazing ride — hopefully one that’s not quite over yet,” she said.

“I love this industry but it also makes me sad to see where it’s headed. Thanks for listening all these years, friends.”

The morning show Deyell was a part of seems to have already been rebranded as Mornings with Andy.

Deyell is the latest cut in the Calgary radio scene, with longtime radio host Rob Breakenridge being let go back in November.
