Senior allegedly assaulted and robbed outside Calgary casino

Calgary Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman believed to be connected to the assault and robbery of a senior outside a casino.

According to a release issued today, the incident took place around 9 pm on Thursday, June 7 when an 88-year-old man who had been visiting Casino Calgary, located at 1420 Meridian Road NE, was about to leave.

He had just left the casino and entered his vehicle, when “he was approached by a woman who attempted to sell him what she claimed was gold jewelry,” police said. “The victim declined to buy the jewelry and the woman allegedly reached into the car and assaulted the victim.”

She then allegedly stole a large sum of money from the victim before fleeing.

Police said the woman is described as nearly 6’ tall, with a large build and black hair, wearing blue “flowy” pants, a white polka-dot shirt, and a blue and white shawl.

It is believed she may have been accompanied by a man who was described as having a medium build and black hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue button-up shirt.
