Here's a sneak peek at Calgary's soon-to-open Saks Fifth Avenue (PHOTOS)
The new Saks Fifth Avenue at Calgary’s Chinook Centre is almost open, and we’ve got a sneak peek of what’s (quite literally) in store.
The luxury department store is an American staple, and will be opening its doors in Calgary on Thursday February 22, according to a release from Saks Fifth Avenue, which is owned by Hudson’s Bay.

Along with all the fashion, jewelry, accessories, and more coming along with the new store, it will also be bringing 120 jobs to Calgary.

Saks Fifth Avenue vice president and Chinook Centre location general manager, Lydia Seifert, said in a release that the city is expected to mesh well with what Saks has to offer.
“Calgary is such a welcoming and dynamic city, and I can’t wait to see how this new location will enhance the premium shopping experience and fashion Canadians have come to expect from Saks Fifth Avenue,” she said in the release.

The opening day will feature locally-sources artwork in windows and throughout the store, along with an in-store dining and salon experience expected for early 2018.
“Our strategy for all stores in North America is to create one-of-a-kind experiences for our clients―this is what we call ‘The New Luxury,'” said Marc Metrick, president of Saks Fifth Avenue, in the release.
“This is an experience clients cannot get anywhere else and we look forward to joining the Calgary community.”

The new store will be open from 9:30 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 7 pm on Sundays.
Customers of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) will receive 2X the RBC Rewards points when they shop at Saks Calgary, Eaton Centre, and Sherway Gardens as a bonus celebration for the opening.
