First off, we Calgarians love nothing more than a good party. And since Stampede has passed, we’re looking for ways to get fit and have fun at the same time.
This came to fruition on Friday, September 6 when Edworthy Park transformed for what can only be described as an epic party. At the core of the evening was a neon-lit running (or walking) course, which was set up for Michelob ULTRA and The Running Room’s ULTRA Night Run.
The 780 participants could choose between a five- or 10-km challenge and take in mesmerizing night views of the Bow River along the course. To make it better, live DJs spun tracks throughout the night to keep runners motivated. The result? One unparalleled, fun-filled fitness extravaganza.
Taking part in an after-dark fitness event calls for a big celebration upon completion. That’s why runners crossed the finish line to join a neon-lit beer garden, complete with live music performances and ice-cold drinks.
Yes, the ULTRA Night Run was literally lit. Participants also received a free t-shirt and a shiny congratulatory medal (which doubled as a beer opener). You read that right.
Feeling the FOMO yet? If so, don’t worry. There’s a way that you can experience the magic of the ULTRA Night Run for yourself: by registering for next year’s event!
The ULTRA Night Run 2020 will take place on Friday, September 4 at Edworthy Park. If you sign up soon, you’ll even save money on registration.
