Michigan folk singer-songwriter Rodriguez comes to Calgary playing an all-ages-welcome show at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on Wednesday, August 31.
The self-taught guitarist, began performing in bars and clubs around the city of Detroit in the 1960s, however, his music did not gain popularity until some years later.
Known for his songs that focus on the plight of the poor, Rodriguez now tours extensively in South Africa, Australia, Europe, and the U.S. His albums include Cold Fact and Coming from Reality, and have since been re-released on Light in the Attic records and the Searching for Sugar Man soundtrack is available on Sony Legacy.
