6 of the best spots to enjoy a river float near Calgary

July is here, and it’s starting out hot. If you’re looking for ways to stay cool this summer, then you have to try a river float near Calgary.

For those not fortunate enough to have a pool (us included), taking a dip in the great outdoors is the next best thing. You don’t even need to travel far – or even swim! A leisurely float down the river is relaxing, refreshing, and requires very little effort on your part… besides getting there, of course.

Lucky for you, Calgary has no shortage of spots to enjoy a river float. But before we list them all, a few housekeeping announcements.

The City of Calgary has specific guidelines that must be followed to ensure your safety. Remember that wearing a lifejacket is mandatory by law, and failure to do so can result in a $500 fine and a mandatory court appearance.

Make sure you have sunscreen, water, and any other supplies suited to the weather conditions of the day. Finally, make sure you’re using an inflatable that’s rated for river/outdoor use. Pool floaties are not good enough and will very likely pop if snagged on rocks and branches.

Now that you’re all set, here are six of the best spots to enjoy a float near Calgary.
