If you’re a fan of some wild and wonky races, a competition is making its Canadian debut in the Alberta Rockies later this spring.

The Red Bull Jump & Freeze is coming to Sunshine Village in Banff on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The event involves teams of two to four people hitting the slopes dressed in over-the-top costumes or strapped into self-crafted vehicles. Teams will send it from the top of Goat’s Eye to the bottom to try to reach the other end of the pool.

“Teams will be judged on creativity, performance, and jump difficulty, so go big and commit to the chaos,” the event added.

If you’re interested in taking part and racing down to try and reach the finish line, you have until Friday, Feb. 6, to do so.

A total of 30 teams will be selected to compete, with participating teams to be announced at a later date.

First-place winners of the competition will earn a Red Bull Jump & Freeze trophy and Sunshine Village season passes for each team member for the 2026-2027 season, while second and third-place winners will earn themselves a Red Bull Jump & Freeze trophy.
