New adults-only night coming to the Calgary Zoo

As recommended by health officials, if you choose to participate in events outside of your home, please adhere to COVID-19 health and safety measures, including proper physical distancing, mask-wearing, and frequent handwashing. If you are sick, please stay home.

The Calgary Zoo is introducing a whole new kind of adults-only night this month with the help of QUEST.

QUEST is a game series that puts players right inside the story, where they’ll choose what happens next.

QUEST for the Golden Giraffe, launching on April 22, is the zoo’s first edition of the new 18+ series. On this outdoor adventure, every choice you make takes your team in a new direction through different areas in the zoo. Explore the zoo and stop at bars along the route as you work to find your way to the finish.

The challenge isn’t timed, and it runs from 4:30 to 8 pm with staggered entries. Players can rush to the end, or take their time, sip on an adult beverage, and check out the zoo animals as they journey through the story.

To play, you’ll need a cellphone and a team of two to six people. Team members must be from the same household, or two close contacts for those who live alone, as per current Alberta Health Services guidelines.

You can even add a delicious dinner box to your evening. Options include fish and chips, a smokehouse pulled pork sandwich, mango rolls, and more.
