Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to visit Calgary for a rally this Saturday

Justin Trudeau is coming to Calgary this Saturday.

Just two days before Canada heads to the polls for the 2019 federal election, and the Liberal Party leader will be spending an evening at a rally located in the riding of Calgary Skyview.

The rally is expected to run from 9:45 to 11:30 pm and will be held at the Magnolia Banquet Hall, according to information posted on the Liberal Party of Canada’s events page.

Trudeau made a similar appearance at a rally in Calgary Skyview prior to the 2015 federal election, which may have helped the Liberals secure one of their two seats within Calgary (the Conservatives winning the other eight) four years ago.

Unlike Calgary Centre where incumbent Kent Hehr is running for reelection, Calgary Skyview’s MP Darshan Singh Kang will not be running, as he was dismissed from the party in 2018 after a House of Commons investigation found that he violated rules against harassment.

Nirmala Naidoo will be representing the Liberals in the riding instead, hoping to keep the small foothold that the Liberals have in Alberta of four out of the province’s 34 seats.

Those hoping to attend the rally can RSVP at the Liberal Party’s website.
