Police seeking witness after person dies in motorcycle crash

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a fatal collision that took place on Saturday, May 16.

According to a CPS release, a motorcycle had been travelling north on Macleod Trail when it hit a metal roadside barrier near Spiller Road SE. The crash fatally injured the rider.

The collision occurred at around 3:50 pm that day.

An investigation discovered that a bright blue three- or four-series BMW sedan had been driving near the motorcycle at the time of the collision, and police are hoping to get in contact with the driver.

The release notes that police do not believe the BMW to have been involved in the collision in any way, merely that they believe the driver might have information that could help in the investigation of the crash.
