Canada's largest pickle festival is landing in Calgary this month

It was teased almost a year ago, but Canada’s largest pickle festival is arriving in Calgary for the first time ever before the month is out.
Picklefest will be hosting its inaugural Calgary festival at Big Rock Brewery on Saturday, Aug. 29, bringing local vendors, live music and a ton of pickle-inspired treats to the city for one day only.
With successful events in Toronto and Vancouver under its belt, the all-ages festival will be a sure-fire hit for everyone from the most dedicated pickle lover to those who are simply pickle-curious.
But if you fancy yourself a home pickling expert, there’ll even be a “Show us your pickle” competition where Calgary picklers will compete for cash prizes and bragging rights.
“Our passion for pickling isn’t just a fad,” says Adin Wener, co-founder of Picklefest.Â
“We are true believers in the art of fermentation and the amazing versatility of the pickle flavour. Picklefest is about celebrating pickle lovers, homemade picklers, and those keen to carry on family traditions and recipes. It’s a multi-generation event that celebrates both time-honoured traditions and new twists.”
