Downtown Calgary has come alive thanks to a five-day winter light festival.
Glowfest YYC features local, national, and international artists from February 14 to 18, and what’s even better is that the festival is completely free to attend.

Each night from 5 pm to 11 pm, public spaces throughout the downtown core will be lit with one-of-a-kind installations, projections, theatrical experiences, and interactive light art.
The installations will be linked to the Festival Hubs where festival goers can find information, refreshments, and special performances.
The festival kicked off last night just in time for Valentine’s Day, with interactive installations, amazing photo ops, and seriously romantic settings.
Take a look below at a few of our favourite photos from the first day of the festivities!
