Here's what to expect from Calgary's first ever cocktail festival
It’s no secret that YYC has a seriously strong cocktail culture–maybe one of the strongest in the country.
With a whole whack of hip bespoke cocktail spots and speakeasy-style bars, it’s no wonder Calgary is a destination for those that like to sip and savour the awesome creations of talented bartenders.

So taking that into account, it totally makes sense that a Calgary cocktail festival to celebrate this culture was created: Peeled Cocktail Festival.
For its inaugural annual event, Peeled asks attendees to purchase a $40 cocktail passport (pickup is at the Bank & Baron between 11 am and 1 pm on August 12 during the welcome reception), and make their way through the list of 14 bars, as well as attending the “Big Event” going down on the eve on August 12.
Participating venues include Last Best, Model Milk, Milk Tigers, Native Tongues, The Derrick, Proof, and Ricardo’s to name a few.
Whether you’re a new to the cocktail world or you’re an experience aficionado, you can build your adventure during this festival by grabbing tickets to different events such as tastings and seminars led by world world-renowned bartenders such as Dale DeGroff (AKA King Cocktail) and Jack McGarry of Dead Rabbit NYC.
Events includes The History of Cocktails, Bringing The Old Fashioned Home, How To Setup and Stock A Home Bar, and more.
