You can bike through Calgary's streets on a pedal-powered pub this spring

As recommended by health officials, if you choose to participate in events outside of your home, please adhere to COVID-19 health and safety measures, including proper physical distancing, mask-wearing, and frequent handwashing. If you are sick, please stay home.

Pedal Pub is back, YYC, and their party bike tours sound like the perfect way to ring in patio beer season.

The 15-seat, pedal-powered pubs offer the chance to get some exercise and fresh air while enjoying a boozy beverage, checking out unique restaurants and breweries, and exploring some of Calgary’s coolest neighbourhoods.

Your own private Pilot guide will steer the oversized bike, offer commentary, and ensure everyone has the best time possible as you sip on a drink and soak in the sunshine.

Choose from three different two-hour tours through the streets of Calgary’s trendiest neighbourhoods, each with a couple of stops at local bars, restaurants, and breweries. You might just learn something new about the beverages you’re sipping on too.

The Beltline East tour runs along the infamous Electric Avenue and the Red Mile, checking out bars and breweries on the south side of downtown all the way to 17th Ave, while the Beltline West tour visits long-time staples and hidden gems on the opposite side of 17th Ave.

The Brewery Flats tour takes passengers through two of Calgary’s oldest neighbourhoods, Inglewood and Ramsay. The city’s booming craft beer industry has invited some unreal breweries to join the existing eclectic pubs and bars in these communities.

In addition to stops at bars and breweries to try local brews, passengers can actually drink while pedalling the bikes.

The pedal pubs have pre-stocked coolers on board with a variety of options, such as canned vodka sodas, craft ciders, and, of course, beers.

While current COVID-19 restrictions don’t allow guests to reserve individual seats on the bikes, private groups of eight to 12 people are permitted to book tours.
