New neighbourhood bar set to open in a beloved Calgary spot
A brand-new neighbourhood bar is gearing up to open in Calgary very soon, and it’ll be taking over a much-loved space.
Late last year, Calgarians were shocked to see that Rising Tides taproom would be closing its doors after almost four years serving the Montgomery community. Since then, the spot has lain dormant, but now, we finally know what’s next.
Palios will be the new kid on the block, offering a spot to grab a brew and a bite and hang out with a bestie (or two or three).
“We are thrilled to announce that Palios will continue this legacy of a friendly neighbour while introducing fresh and vibrant elements to enhance your experience,” the spot said in an Instagram post.

Much like its predecessor, Palios will be keeping the focus on local beers, while expanding on its offerings with cocktails and a brand-new snack menu.
“We are excited to support and showcase local breweries, local distilleries, and local farms whenever possible ā bringing in ingredients, drinks, products, and partnerships that celebrate the incredible people and businesses around us,” it added.
“From local craft beers to thoughtfully sourced menu items, we want Palios to feel like a true neighbourhood gathering place that reflects the community we call home.”
While Palios hasn’t shared an official opening date, we’ll be keeping an eye out for this exciting new addition.
