Japanese bakery known for its cheese tarts to close its only Calgary location

We come to you bearing news of yet another imminent closure in Calgary’s dining scene. This time, Japanese bakery Pablo Cheese Tart has shared that it will be closing its YYC outpost this week.
The Osaka-based chain first opened in the city in 2021, where it’s been serving up creamy cheese tarts in a variety of flavours ever since.
However, in an Instagram post, the Pablo Calgary team shared that its location at 602B 16th Ave. NW would be closing after almost five years.

“Thank you for every visit, every order, and every kind word over the years,” the post reads.
“Our final day of service will be May 23, 2026 and we hope to see many of you before we say goodbye.”
It’s another Calgary spot that will be greatly missed.
