New restaurant 'Oxbow' opens April 3 in former Chef's Table space

Calgary’s newest restaurant from the Hotel Arts Group, Oxbow, is set to open its doors Monday, April 3.

The restaurant, named for its location along the Bow River, is situated inside the Kensington Riverside Inn, a space that was formerly Chef’s Table.

This new spot will be offerings guests breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch too.

Led by Hotel Arts Group Executive Chef Jan Hansen, Chef de Cuisine Sean Cutler has created a menu that uses seasonal ingredients to create dishes meant to comfort and delight guest at Oxbow.

With an emphasis on “uncomplicated” dining, patrons can expect a straight-forward yet delicious spread of recognizable options. The atmosphere at Oxbow will be a relaxing one with no fancy expectations.

Menu items here include both vegatarian and meat-focused items. For breakfast they will offer brekkie classics along with newer ones like the Saskatoon Better Smoothie Bowl, while lunch and dinner will be mostly fresh, seasonal veggies incorporated into hearty, filling meals.

Oxbow’s drink program is looking great as well. Their house caesar has housemade pickles and a generous helping of beef jerky, and this spot is offering 50 wines for under $50 a bottle.

Oxbow also has a patio with views of the river, making it a great destination for summer meals or get togethers.

This space, which consists of a dining room and lounge, was designed by Sarah Ward Interiors (Analog, Home & Away, Crave Cupcakes) so we can expect stellar decor that is influenced by the regional area of the restaurant, as well as unique artwork signature to Hotel Arts Group eateries.
