Over 66 kinds of poutine to try during Calgary Poutine Week 2017

It’s baaaaack! Calgary Poutine week takes over the minds, hearts, and stomachs of YYC from April 21 to 29 this year, and the best part is, when you eat poutine sold as part of Calgary Poutine Week, you are helping get a meal to someone in need.

Poutine Week is partnered with Mealshare, the non-profit that basically is a one-for-one donation based model that lets restaurants feed customers and kids in need. While participating restaurants have Mealshare menu items that trigger the donation, during the seven glorious days of Poutine Week, all the poutine purchased translates into meals donated via Mealshare.

Seriously, eating poutine is never this good. And the poutine creations you can check out during the event are pretty next-level. With 66 participating restaurants (and a few doing multiple options or offering vegan or veggie versions of their creations) that is A LOT of poutine vying for your time and belly space this month.

Ship and Anchor always goes all-out, and for 2017 they’re dishing outĀ Le Meaty Mediterranean Poutine. It’s saffron fries topped with 6oz grilled sirloin, crumbled falafel, grilled pineapple, fresh mint, baba ganoush, sweet garlic sauce, feta, cheese curds, and gravy.

There’s going to be meatball poutine, tater tot poutine, duck poutine, Korean-inspired poutine, cheesesteak poutine, lobster poutine…So. Much. Poutine.

The list of participating restaurants is online, sorted by neighbourhood and including details about their poutine offerings.

How many will you manage to try during Poutine Week?
