‘Tis the season!
Calgary’s favourite outdoor skating rink has finally opened, as Olympic Plaza’s rink is now accepting skaters as of this Thursday, November 21.
Built in 1988 for the Olympic Winter Games, Olympic Plaza has the only refrigerated outdoor ice surface in the city.

You can rent skates at the plaza if you don’t have a pair, and skate rentals are free for the next few days in celebration of the Grey Cup Festival.
You may want to leave the hockey sticks, toboggans, sleds, and strollers at home — they’re not allowed on the ice!
Olympic Plaza is now open for skating ⛸
