A Calgary-based photographer managed to capture a dazzling display of the Northern Lights over the weekend.
Stuart Milliner took a time lapse video and photos of the relatively short and weak geomagnetic bursts of green colours, which were mixed in with a glow of yellow from light pollution in the distance.
The Northern Lights are of course best seen away from urban areas where there is less smog and light pollution.
Mr. Blobby made an appearance last night on the way home from ….well a rather unsuccessful aurora hunting evening. This was a pretty cool spot just NW of Calgary. #yyc #yycnow #yyctoday #canon #fisheye #landscape #Aurora #northernlights #hightension #electrifying A photo posted by Stuart Milliner (@stuartmilliner1) on
