Someone is going to be ringing in 2021 in style.

The online 50/50 at the World Junior Championship has already surpassed $2.5 million at time of publishing, and will likely soar higher throughout the day. Today’s jackpot started at $500,000 when tickets went on sale at 9 am MT, and hockey fans in Alberta have jumped at the chance to buy into the raffle.

With no spectators allowed at this year’s tournament, the 50/50 moved online for the first time in World Juniors history. The highest jackpot to date was $594,055 on Boxing Day.

Tickets are sold online for people in Alberta through the Hockey Canada website during every game day from 9 am to 10 pm MT for the following amounts:

  • $5 for 1
  • $10 for 10
  • $20 for 60
  • $50 for 200

To buy your ticket, visit HockeyCanada.ca/5050.

Money from World Juniors 50/50 sales is split between the winning ticket holder and the Hockey Alberta Foundation, a not-for-profit organization helping grassroots hockey.
