3 new deaths in Alberta as province's known total hits 1,451

In a Thursday press conference, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said that Alberta has seen 28 new known cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

This brings the province’s known total to 1,451.

She also noted that there have been three new deaths in Alberta.

Hinshaw stated at the press conference that the cases had been a woman in her 80s in Calgary, a man in his 70s in Edmonton, and a woman in her 60s in Calgary.

One of the deaths was a resident in a continuing care centre.

There have now been a total of 151 confirmed cases in continuing care centres in Alberta.

192 of Alberta’s known cases are believed to have been caught through community transmission, while a total of 592 Albertans have recovered from the virus.
