Go on a self-guided mural tour to celebrate this year's BUMP Festival

The Beltline Urban Mural Project may be a little different this year thanks to that whole COVID-19 situation, but that doesn’t mean Calgarians can’t enjoy the stunning works of art on display throughout their city.

BUMP has launched two self-guided tours that take participants on journeys throughout some of Calgary’s most decked out neighbourhoods, showcasing some of the most popular pieces of art from past years.

The most recent tour — which was uploaded on Thursday — will also take would-be participants past the three new 2020 murals that are current in progress, so you may get to see artists in action as they make Calgary a brighter place.

The first tour is 1.8 km throughout 17th Avenue, and features 12 murals over the span of 45 to 60 minutes.

The second tour includes the aforementioned works-in-progress, as well as all the best pieces that 13th Avenue and 10th Avenue have to offer. With 16 locations and 6.5 km of ground to cover, you may want to consider pulling on your running shoes for this one.

Both tours can be accessed by heading over to the BUMP Festival’s website, and more events are expected to be announced in the lead up to the official festival dates, which will run from August 26 to 29.
