A popular Vancouver bar is setting its sights on a new location in Calgary, marking its move into Alberta.

Mount Pleasant Vintage announced it’s moving out west, opening a new location in Beltline, bringing its full concept right to the city, including a cocktail bar, patio, and thrift shop.

Construction is set to begin this month, with a target opening of June 2026. The Vancouver-based bar, which came in 91st place on North America’s 50 best bars extended list, will be marking its first location outside of British Columbia.

Mount Pleasant Vintage is described as a neighbourhood cocktail bar and grill drenched in counter culture that blends hospitality with retail in a space that doubles as a functioning vintage and resale shop.

The cocktail program at the Calgary location will focus on house-made ingredients and classic drinks alongside more technical cocktails, while the food menu will feature live-fire cooking and seasonal ingredients built around smoked and grilled ingredients.

Calgary is a deliberate choice. Its hospitality scene has evolved into one of the most dynamic in the country, and the Beltline — walkable, neighbourhood-forward, genuinely alive — is exactly the kind of community this bar was built for,” the bar said in a release.

More details on the Calgary location, including programming and opening events, are expected to be released closer to launch.

This isn’t the only Vancouver bar coming to Calgary soon. A popular nightclub, Gallery, is opening a Calgary location soon.
