Motionball Gala in Calgary celebrates Special Olympics Canada

Dec 19 2017, 11:21 am

The Motionball Gala is a night to raise funds and awareness about Special Olympics Canada. The focus is on integration, education, and celebration between Special Olympic athletes and Canada’s young professionals. And this year’s IGNITE Gala’s theme focuses on how sport and Special Olympics have ignited, and will continue to ignite the passion of athletes.

The night will feature a performance from Skratch Bastid, a Canadian DJ from Halifax who just announced his 2016 European tour dates. There will also be music played throughout the night from homegrown talent, DJ Joe Swell, along with dance performances, a silent auction, a raffle for a trip for two anywhere in the world and a complimentary bar.

The elegant evening calls for formal attire that compliments the theme of the night: fiery reds, passionate fuchsias, burnt oranges and other shades of autumn.

Motionball was first launched in 2002 and is a volunteer run, Canadian non-profit organization. It creates integrated social and sporting events for the next generation of Special Olympic Athletes in Canada.
