Could you imagine how scary a medical procedure would be for a child? Well one Calgary-based company, RxRobot, has found a way to help ease those anxieties by creating a humanoid Robot dubbed MEDi (Medicine and Engineering Designing Intelligence).
MEDi the robot is meant to be a pain coach, educator and companion for young patients. As an added bonus, MEDi was also found to improve the healthcare experience for parents and caregivers as well.
The invention recently helped the group to claim the title of Most Innovative-Startup at the Pediatrics 2040 conference in January, an annual event where pediatricians look at technology that will help impact and improve healthcare.
