McDonald's to launch new 'crafted sodas' across Canada — here's what's on the menu
If you’ve been eyeing the viral dirty soda craze or have just been wanting to up your beverage game, then you’re in luck, as McDonald’s has shared that it is “officially entering its beverage era” with a lineup of new cold drinks that will be permanent additions to the menu.
“This launch marks a major shift for McDonald’s Canada,” said Annemarie Swijtink, president and CEO of McDonald’s Canada. “Beverages are no longer a side offering — they’re a core part of how we show up for our guests. We set out to create a beverage line-up that feels fresh, craveable and here to stay — bringing bold flavours together with premium touches. This is a long‐term commitment to evolving our menu with our guests at the centre.”
The new additions revolve around three categories: McCafé Crafted Sodas, Refreshers, and Cloud Iced Coffees.
The new McCafé Crafted Sodas offer what McDonald’s is calling a “trendy fusion of familiar flavours with an indulgent, modern twist” that are served in clear cups to show off the vibrant colours and cold foams. Among the new Crafted Sodas are:
- Sprite Berry Bliss: a take on Sprite made with an electric blue raspberry-flavoured syrup and topped with a sweet cold foam (a drink that sounds very reminiscent of the recent collab between the fast food chain and OVO).
- Orange Dream: another spin on a classic Sprite, made with an orange cream flavoured syrup and topped with sweet cold foam.
- Creamy Strawberry Coke: Coca-Cola made with a strawberry and cream-flavoured syrup, also topped with sweet cold foam.
As for the new McCafé Refreshers, you’ll find options like the:
- Mango Pineapple Refresher: A lemonade beverage made with real lemon juice concentrate alongside the taste of mango and pineapple, topped with strawberry-flavoured popping pearls
- Strawberry Watermelon Refresher: A lemonade beverage made with real lemon juice concentrate, with flavours of strawberry and watermelon and topped with freeze-dried strawberries.
- Blackberry Passionfruit Refresher: A lemonade beverage made with real lemon juice concentrate and the sweet and tart taste of blackberry and passionfruit, topped with freeze-dried dragonfruit.
Finally, the new McCafé Cloud Iced Coffees. These iced coffees, available in regular, French vanilla, sugar-free vanilla, and salted caramel flavours, are all topped with sweet cold foam.

The new Crafted Sodas, Refreshers, and Cloud Iced Coffees are available starting May 5 at participating McDonald’s locations across Canada.

If that wasn’t exciting enough news, McDonald’s has also shared that its $1 small fountain drinks and iced coffees are returning on May 19. It’s important to note that the aforementioned new drinks are part of a new premium lineup, meaning they don’t qualify for the $1 promotion.
Plus, patrons using the McDonald’s app can redeem an offer for a $1 any-size fountain drink and a $1 small or medium iced coffee.
