Crews were called to the 5000 block of Brenner Drive NW at around 6:30 pm on Sunday, according to a CFD release, with firefighters noting smoke and fire being present when they arrived.

Crews ultimately needed to open up a section of the roof to get at the fire that had spread into the attic, eventually extinguishing the flames.

All residents were successfully and safely evacuated.

The release states that the cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Sunday night.
