For Canadian fans of the famous — but hard to come by — Filipino fast food joint Jollibee, good news is on the horizon.

Because the eatery, which up until this point has been somewhat elusive across the country, has announced plans for massive expansion.

In fact, the company aims to have 250 Jollibee stores open across North America by 2023.

The brand’s parent company, Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing Asian restaurant companies. JFC has identifiedĀ North AmericaĀ as a key growth market in its pursuit to be among the top five restaurant companies in the world.

The announcement comes alongside news that Jollibee has opened a brand new North American support headquarters located inĀ West Covina, California.Ā

Jollibee is the largest fast food chain brand inĀ the Philippines, operating a Philippine network of more than 1,400 stores.

In North America, Jollibee opened its first store in 1998 in Daly City, California. It now operates 46 stores across the region, including locations in California, New York, and Texas, and in Manitoba, Ontario, and Alberta in Canada.

Jollibee announced plans for significant expansion in 2018, sharing a goal of opening 100 locations across Canada in the next five years.

But 250 new eateries across the continent? That takes the cake… or the peach mango pie.
