Helen and Owen had their wedding on July 4, the day there was a freak hail storm that sent everyone running for cover under anything they could find.
The photo was taken by Cassie’s Camera just before the huge storm hit and drenched everyone in the wedding party.
Even though the couple had to go through a storm, an absolutely stunning photo resulted from it.
Cassie’s Camera reported on their Facebook page that the couple “had buckets of water dumped on them on their wedding day and the still came out smiling, happy and full of love just blew me away and I now love them even more”.
They are now getting lots of love from Facebook. More than 4,000 people have liked the photo and they have had more than 400 shares.
So you know that big hail storm that hit Calgary yesterday?! Well this photo was snapped about 60 seconds before that hit and yes we absolutely got caught in that torrential downpour!! The Bride Helen, the groom Owen and the groomsmen who had stayed behind to help out were DRENCHED instantly. Barrelling towards the car with two little umbrellas (one for the couple and the other sacrificed to cover my cameras) we all piled in for cover.
We couldn’t all help but laugh hysterically at what was happening. It was absolutely crazy and definitely an unforgettable moment. We had to be at the restaurant in 30 minutes for the couple’s dinner so we booked it to their home which was thankfully close by. The boys tossed all of their suits into the dryer and the bridesmaids worked quickly to fix Helen’s hair and blow dry her dress. In about 20 minutes everyone looked just as spiffy as before the storm…. just a little on the damp side.
I already knew Owen and Helen to be two of the most amazing spirited people in the world but the fact that they basically had buckets of water dumped on them on their wedding day and still came out smiling, happy and full of love just blew me away and I now love them even more!
