How to watch tonight's Flames-Avalanche game because it's not on Sportsnet

Mar 31 2025, 4:02 pm

The Calgary Flames continue to battle for their playoff spot tonight, but the game won’t be on Sportsnet.

With the team sitting just below the playoff cutline, Calgary will need a win against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena tonight if they want to keep pace in the race. However, Flames fans will have to venture over to Amazon Prime to watch the game, as the streaming giant will take over the broadcast.

This will be the fourth and final Flames game to be shown on Prime this season.

Coverage will begin a little earlier than usual as Prime offers fans an intimate live-streamed look at the arena and warmups. That is set to begin at 5:45 p.m. MDT.

A few special guests will be featured throughout the broadcast that fans will want to check out. Flames defenceman MacKenzie Weegar will have a post-morning skate interview air sometime this evening, and NHL legend Joe Sakic is set to stop by the Prime Monday Night Hockey desk at one of the intermissions.

As per usual, John Forslund will handle the play-by-play duties with the help of analysts Blake Bolden, Jody Shelley, and Thomas Hickey. Andi Petrillo will host the broadcast, while Adnan Virk will take up the role of rinkside reporter.

Fans wanting to watch tonight’s game will need to have an active subscription to Amazon Prime, which currently retails for $9.99 a month or $99 annually. Free trials are available for new users, and the Amazon Prime app is available on most major devices.

The game is set to get underway at 6:30 p.m. MDT.
