High River's skies will be filled with hot air balloons tonight (PHOTOS)

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… a small basket being held afloat by a gigantic balloon filled with hot air!

The Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival is back this week, with nearly a dozen colourful balloons filling the skies of High River.

Located just 45 minutes away from Calgary, the festival makes for the perfect opportunity to go sky-gazing, especially during tonight’s Balloon Glow event.

Free to attend, the Balloon Glow will feature all the balloons of the festival lit up against the night sky.

While that will not occur until 5 to 9 pm tonight, we have rounded up a few wonderful photos of what the festival has looked like so far.
