Home & Away, a staple spot on 17th Ave, announced recently that after nearly four years of operation it will be shuttering.
Owners sent a message out to patrons explaining the decision to close at 1331 17th Avenue SW wasn’t an easy one.

Home & Away cited the economic climate as one of the reasons for this choice. The restaurant said its property taxes have tripled since 2016.
Pair that inflation with an impending three-month road closure in front of its building, and the owners realized staying open is a “battle we just aren’t going to win.”
The last weekend of operation will be June 28 to 30, after that, Home & Away hope to find a “new and improved location with appropriate property taxes” to reopen.
