Heritage Park's Historical Village reopening this weekend

Taking a trip back in time to escape the brutal reality of 2020 sounds like an ideal afternoon these days.

Luckily for those of us hoping to forget our present horrors for an hour or two, Heritage Park’s Historical Village is planning to reopen this Saturday.

Transporting visitors back to the early days of Calgary, Heritage Park allows guests to explore historical homes and exhibits, ride an antique steam train, and visit some old-fashioned stores selling some sweet goods.

The village will be reopened starting Saturday, June 27, according to a release from Heritage Park, and will be operating on reduced hours of 10 am to 5 pm from Wednesday through Sunday.

To ensure public health guidelines are met, the park has created one-way traffic, reduced guest capacity, and enhanced cleaning protocols.

“We thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we continue to work through this process. As the health and safety regulations change, we will assess and revise our operations to the best of our abilities,” the release states.

Reduced admission rates are in effect, and would-be visitors can purchase their timed entry tickets online at Heritage Park’s website.
