One of Calgary’s favourite locations is opening back up for the summer.
The Historical Village in Heritage Park will be celebrating its opening weekend starting on Saturday, May 19, which will launch its 54th summer season.
- All-female marketplace will be at East Village Junction this summer
- Music Collectors Show coming to Calgary this weekend
- Where to get Mother's Day brunch in Calgary
You may have to travel a bit further into the future before taking that trip into the past, but we’re sure the wait will be worth it.
Attendees of opening weekend will be able to take a ride on the village’s horse-drawn wagon, check out the antique midway, travel on the steam-powered train, and end it all off with a fresh cheese bun baked right in Heritage Park.
“No two days at the park are the same, so come back as often as you like for a history lesson you won’t find in any textbook,” states the Historical Village website.
The village will be open all three days of the long weekend from 10 am to 5 pm, so there’s plenty of time to drag out the fam, hubby, or friend to check on what’s happening this year.
