Listen up, guys and ghouls. Spooky season is upon us, and to celebrate, plenty of Calgary cocktail bars have been transformed this October.
Trick-or-treating may be a thing of the past for many of us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little bit of Halloween fun. With bone-chilling decor, blood-curdling playlists and limited-time spooky season menus, there is plenty to check out.

Nightmare Before Christmas

Ricardo’s Hideaway will once again be trading in its usual tropical get-up for Nightmare Before Christmas, with the space totally transformed with spooktacular decor and ghostly tunes to bring the Halloween spirit to Calgary.
There’ll also be a limited-time cocktail menu featuring special sips, such as the Ectoplasm, which combines Genmaicha milk-washed vodka with sweet potato shÅchÅ« and lychee, and the Giallo, made with Irish whiskey, Pinot Grigio, ambrosia apple,Ā and honey.

The renowned Halloween pop-up, The Black Lagoon, will be returning to YYC, this time, taking over Charlie’s Watch Repair.
The spot is offering six original spine-chilling cocktails, such as the Creatureās Curse, with rice-washed Lot 40 Rye, Kraken Gold, Lustau Amontillado Sherry, roasted sweet potato/pumpkin, and figgy bitters or the Midnight Forever, with black sesame-infused vodka, Lustau Fino Sherry, Miso Falernum, lemon, and black glitter.
