Misery at the pump as gas prices in Alberta are expected to rise soon

Gas prices in Alberta saw a big jump this week, and they aren’t done rising just yet, with a gas price analysis service estimating a rise today.
Gas Wizard predicts prices will increase by approximately 25 cents per litre (to $1.929) in Edmonton and 17 cents per litre (to $1.959) in Calgary on Friday, May 1.
The price of premium fuel is also set to rise by 19 cents per litre in YEG and 17 cents per litre in YYC, while diesel prices are forecast to see a jump too.
Diesel prices will increase by approximately nine cents per litre (to $1.899) in Edmonton and nine cents per litre (to $1.979) in Calgary.

There is a small price drop on the horizon, with Gas Wizard predicting that gas prices on Saturday, May 2, will drop by approximately two cents per litre (to $1.909) in Edmonton and three cents per litre (to $1.929) in Calgary.
Despite seeing another jump at the pump this week, spots in Alberta still have some of the lowest gas prices in Canada. Looking at the daily pump price survey done by Kalibrate, the highest prices yesterday were found in Vancouver at $2.189 and Victoria at $2.106. That’s some serious pain at the pump.
According to the daily pump price survey, the Canadian average at the pump for regular gasoline is $1.895, while diesel is $2.221.
