Gas prices expected to increase this week across Canada... except West Coast
Prepare to pay more at the pump this week.
With gas prices “bouncing all around,” Dan McTeague, a gas price analyst with gasbuddy.com, said Wednesday morning will bring a three-cent increase to pumps across the majority of the country, the exception being gas stations on the West Coast.
In an interview with Daily Hive, McTeague advised drivers to “keep watching” what’s happening with Hurricane Harvey.
“We’re not at the end of this problem,” he said. “[The hurricane has] really taken a stick to the refineries down there and I think a lot of the refineries have not quite yet been able to asses the damage in terms of short and long term production.”
McTeague said that when looking at pricing, it’s a question of a premium above the benchmark price for gasoline which is set in New York.
It looks like it might be a good week to take transit.
