Sorry fans, Gary Bettman’s reign of terror will continue until at least the end of the 2021-22 season.
According to sources, Gary Bettman has signed a new contract through 2022. He declined comment, saying he never discusses his own situation.

Bettman, who is now 63-years-old, has been the NHL commissioner since February 1, 1993.
By the end of this contract, he will have been in charge for 29 years. For the sake of comparison, Bud Selig was commissioner of MLB for 16 years, the NFL’s Paul Tagliabue for 17 years, and the NBA’s David Stern for 30 years.
Bettman’s attitude has turned off fans for years, but of course it hasn’t been all bad with him in charge. The game has grown, albeit with four work stoppages.
