Soak up every ounce of sunshine you can today, Calgary, because you won’t be feeling that warmth for some time to come.

While we already saw that this Sunday is supposed to feel like -31°C, it’s become apparent that the rest of the entire next week will be just as excruciatingly cold.

Calgary forecast (Environment Canada)

Saturday follows suit by bringing it down to -18°C, though Sunday and Monday are when the real cold comes.

February 3 and 4 will see the temperature dip all the way down to -23°C and -24°C, respectively, alongside a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day and a 30% chance of flurries on Monday night (which will be even colder).

Those mittens will still be quite necessary the following days, even if it does get a little warmer.

Tuesday brings the temperature back up to -17°C, and Wednesday will see a bright and sunny -10°C.

Let’s just hope that the trend continues heading into next weekend and puts an end to this cold spell.

Even with the migraines, we’d be happy for a chinook right about now.
