With winter edging ever nearer to our Canadian city, it comes as no surprise that temperatures are beginning to hit below zero the further we get into November… but YYC may be getting its first real taste of winter this Friday.

Temperatures are expected to plummet to as low as -15°C on Friday night, following periods of snow on Thursday night that will continue into the following day.

While Thursday will see a crisp, clean 7°C and relatively sunny skies, Friday will shoot down to -7°C during the day, precluding the even colder night to follow.

Things are looking to take a turn for the warmer after Friday’s cold spell, however, as the forecast calls for temperatures closer to 10°C as we head into next week.
Still, we’d recommend investing in a solid pair of mittens and earmuffs to make it through the upcoming weekend… just to be safe!
