After missing the last two games due to injury, the Calgary Flames officially placed Jacob Markstrom on injured reserve today.
#Flames Roster Updates: Jacob Markstrom has been placed on the Injured Reserve (retroactive Saturday, Feb. 20), Buddy Robinson and Zac Rinaldo have been activated to the roster from the taxi squad, and Oliver Kylington has been assigned to the taxi squad.

Markstrom, who hasn’t played since the Flames’ 7-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, hasn’t been himself since Calgary’s 5-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on February 17. When or how Markstrom suffered his mysterious injury isn’t clear, though he did collide with Canucks forward Tanner Pearson.
Fortunately for the Flames, backup David Rittich has been sensational since filling in, stopping 94 of 98 shots in his last three starts — nearly shutting out the Toronto Maple Leafs in back-to-back games.
