Flames Nation is changing its name following rebrand
Flames Nation as we know it is finished. But, Calgarians and all others who frequent the site or listen to any of its podcasts need not worry.
No, the site isn’t being shut down. Instead, the popular site, which features all sorts of Flames content both during the season and summer months, has announced that its rebranding.
Rather than going by Flames Nation moving forward, it will now be referred to as “Daily Faceoff Calgary.” Other Nation Network brands across the country in Edmonton, Vancouver, and Toronto are also following suit.
“As someone who’s been with the site and the network for nearly 15 years the change is a bit bittersweet, but at the end of the day, it’s more sweet than bitter, and I’m excited to see the next chapter of this website unfold with our same local community focus behind it,” Flames Nation managing editor Ryan Pike wrote.
Changes have already been made on all of the now former Flames Nation social media accounts, while the full rebranding of the website is expected to be complete this coming January.
Pike confirmed that the site will not be changing anything content wise from what they’ve already been doing for so many years.
“We are very excited about this next chapter because of what it unlocks for our business,” said co-founder and president of Nation Network Jay Downton. ““By taking this step, we will be able to unlock more content for our fans, provide greater opportunities for our teammates, and ultimately drive the next step for TNN and Daily Faceoff as a hockey platform.”
The new rebrand also comes with a new logo, which Daily Faceoff Calgary posted on social media on Wednesday morning.

This news from Daily Faceoff Calgary comes on the same day as it was announced that QR 770 will be broadcasting Flames games for the next five years. In other words, there will continue to be plenty of great hockey content being produced in Cowtown.
